Rimmel: review covers Coty’s cosmetic brands, which also include Bourjois and Sally Hansen

Beauty company approaches agencies over creative and digital cosmetics accounts.

Coty, the beauty company, is reviewing the global creative and digital accounts for its cosmetics arm.

Agencies have received RFIs and the review covers Coty’s cosmetic brands, including Bourjois, Rimmel London and Sally Hansen.

Roth Observatory is handling the process.

In 2011, Laird & Partners claimed the global ad account for Rimmel London from J Walter Thompson.

ZenithOptimedia is Coty’s global media planning and buying agency. The Publicis Groupe agency saw off three other shops to win the business in 2015.

OMD had previously held the account in the UK, Ireland, the US and Canada but resigned it earlier in the year.

Coty’s portfolio also includes fragrance and skincare brands such as Davidoff, Calvin Klein, Chloé and Philosophy.

Rimmel London’s latest ad promoted a new mascara that it claimed to be a “lash-tinting phenomenon”.

In 2015, Scott Eastwood – Clint Eastwood’s son – starred in a spot for the Davidoff Cool Water fragrance, and Chloé ran an experiential campaign in Debenhams’ flagship Oxford Street store.
